Langosta Book Translator — Terms of Use

1. What this is

Langosta Book Translator lets you photograph or type pages of books you have, and read them with translations, explanations and audio. It's part of Langosta Learning Labs. During the invite-only period, features and allowances may change.

2. Your account

Sign in with Google. Keep your account to yourself: you're responsible for what happens in it. You must be at least 13 years old.

3. Your books and copyright

• Only add pages you have the right to use: books you own or have borrowed, your own writing, or public-domain texts.
• Your books are private to you. We don't publish, share or sell them. You can't use the service to distribute books to other people.
• You keep all your rights to what you upload. You give us permission to store and process it only as needed to run the service for you, including sending it to the providers named in the Privacy Policy and reusing translated sentences as described there.
• If you believe something on the service infringes your copyright, contact hello@langostalabs.com.

4. Acceptable use

Don't upload illegal content, or content that sexualises minors. Don't try to break, overload or scrape the service, get around its limits, or resell it. Automatic safety checks may refuse to translate some content. We may pause or close accounts that break these rules.

5. AI translations

Translations, explanations and audio are generated by AI. They can be wrong, and they aren't professional translations. Don't rely on them for legal, medical or other critical decisions.

6. Plans, credits and payment

• Free and paid plans include a monthly number of page translations, studies and listens (a sentence read aloud). Credits reset each month and don't carry over.
• A credit is used when a page is translated or a study is made for you, even if the translation reuses earlier work. Hearing a sentence again is free.
• Plus is $9.99 and Pro is $19.99 a month (US dollars), renewing monthly until cancelled. Cancel any time in Plan & billing: you keep the plan until the end of the month you paid for, and you aren't charged again. No refunds for part of a month, including when you delete your account.
• Promotional plans end on the date shown.

7. Feedback

If you send us feedback, we may use it to improve the product without owing you anything.

8. Changes and ending

We may change or stop features. We'll tell you about significant changes to these terms in the app. You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy).

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA.
